18" x 24" watercolor "Deep Forest" |
The above painting was inspired by the gorgeous
wild rhododendrons that decorate our town of Florence
and the surrounding forest areas. With the sweltering days
around the country this summer...I give thanks every day
for our sunny & yet cool days on the Oregon Coast.
We just got back from a road trip to Eastern Oregon to
see & enjoy Prineville, the Painted Hills, the John Day Fossil Beds
and hundreds of itty-bitty surrounding towns. It was dry & 103 degree
desert-country which was fun to look at but then>>>> we were
eager to scramble back to the cool of Eugene and Florence.
Talking to the locals in small town Mitchell, "They love the dry heat;
they have visited Florence... but 'It's too darn cold!"
No question about it... we all find our little niches in life
and live comfortably-ever-after.
I'm going to try and keep up with this page and the overall updating
of my website; I realize I've allowed it to become stagnant & dusty and
my goal is to re-fresh with new photos and text each month.
I'd still like to learn how to maintain my own website, but until then - -
my son Michael in Denver helps me with it and I'm very grateful!
